Aaron Brown
(1943)

Linebacker and defensive end Aaron Brown was born in Port Arthur, Texas. He attended Ohio State. He was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in 1963 and played tight end and defensive end for the club for three seasons. He was a consensus All-American in 1965. The following year, Brown was drafted number one with the Kansas City Chiefs. He missed the 1967 season with a thigh injury, but came back to play for the Chiefs through 1972. He had a brief trial as a pro fullback before making his permanent home at defensive end. Brown was an outstanding tackler and pass rusher but was not happy in the Kansas City area. He asked to be traded following the 1972 season. The Chiefs, acceding to his wishes, traded him to the Green Bay Packers for Francis Peay. Brown moved again, to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, for the 1978 season. Brown played in the 1967 and 1970 Super Bowls. He currently owns a successful gourmet, cookware, glassware, and fabric business in Minneapolis.
