T.K. Hulin began his career at age 14 when he recorded a single entitled, "Many Lonely Nights" in St. Martinville, Louisiana. In 1964, Hulin formed a 12-piece band that included now-famed member Edgar Winters who came from Beaumont to stay at Hulin's home on weekends. By 1964 at age 20, Hulin's big hit, "Not a Fool Anymore", was released and reached the Top 20 status, selling 500,00 copies. In the mid-60's, on a tour sponsored by Mercury Records Hulin preceded on stage, Bobby Blue Band, Jerry Lee Lewis, his friend B.J. Thomas, and even The Everly Brothers.
