Girl Scouts age 11-17 may choose from one of the following workshops:Artistic Crafts Interest ProjectThis workshop is based on the many art forms and handiwork housed in the Museum's exhibits. Girls can complete 2 skill builders, and 1 technology activity through candle making, printmaking, pottery, & more.
TOUR SIZE: Max of 15 girls
COST: $50 per group
Heritage Hunt Interest ProjectBased on the Museum's Sparks Family Pioneer Cabin exhibit, girls will be able to complete 2 skill builders, 1 technology activity, 1 career exploration, and learn about possible service projects with this fun workshop that involves stepping back in time with activities like churning butter and weaving on a loom.
TOUR SIZE: Max of 15 girls
COST: $50 per group
Museum Discovery ProjectCome and learn all about the inner workings at the Museum of the Gulf Coast through a specialized tour. Girls will complete 1 skill builder, 2 technology activities, 1 career exploration, and learn about possible service projects.
TOUR SIZE: Max of 25 girls
COST: $20 per group
Visual Arts Interest ProjectStep in the world of Robert Rauschenberg, a world renowned artist and Port Arthur native. Girls will complete 2 skill builders and 2 technology activities through emulating some of Rauschenberg's many techniques such as silk screening and etching.
TOUR SIZE: Max of 15 girls
COST: $50 per group
Terms & Conditions for Workshops:All workshops must be scheduled at least two weeks in advance and must be conducted Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. Evening hours and weekends are available on request. A deposit of $10 is due 10 business days before the date of the program. A confirmation form will be faxed upon receipt of the deposit. The remaining fee will be due on the day of the visit. The museum accepts cash, check or credit. Deposits will not be refunded in the event of a cancellation.
Brownie and Junior workshops lasts approximately 2 hours and Interest Project Workshops last approximately 3 hours. Workshops do not include a tour of the entire museum. However, if you have additional time, your group is welcome to tour the rest of the museum at no additional charge.

General Tours: In addition to workshops, girl scouts are welcome to schedule a general tour of the Museum. We offer a guided tour that delves into this regions rich history and ends with a scavenger hunt and prizes. All tours cost $2 a scout and need to be scheduled at least 2 weeks in advance with the tour coordinator at 409-982-7000.
Addtional Programs: Ask about a Try-It, Badge, or Interest Project and we may able to tailor a workshop just for you!!! We have resources for various subjects, including arts and crafts, science, history, music, & more!!!
